Welcome
NGABHDA was formed in 2002 to promote herding activities for the greater Lawrenceville, GA area. Since AKC recognition, the club has held two 2-day AKC trials yearly and in 2007 held a single day two trial AHBA event preceding an AKC trial. The club will continue the twice yearly AKC early trials; two 2-day AHBA trials will be held periodically.
of Club Events. All are held at WoodsEnd Farm, Watkinsville, GA.
Next club meeting - 9 am July 12 at arena. Purpose: assist working livestock (foot trims, worming, whatever is needed) and club meeting to follow. Wear protective boots (i.e., not tennis shoes; your feet need protection from sheep feet), bring sturdy gloves, your hat and sunscreen, and good cooperative spirit.
Next AKC Trial - Jan 2 and 3, 2010. Trial classes only - 25 sheep runs, 10 cattle runs, 15 duck runs. Judges TBA pending AKC approval. Trial secretary - Barbara Witte.
May 2 & 3 AKC Trial. It filled and several alternates were able to get in. There were plenty of qualifiers. Stock were cooperative if the dogs were right. The weather also cooperated with generally overcast skies and a good breeze. Gary Deep manages many excellent photos and those are now up on his web site - www.inmotionphotos.biz
Membership Page. The membership page has been updated (5/14/09). Welcome to new member Stacy Einck.
